Register to Vote

To Register to Vote you:

– Must be a United States Citizen
– Must be 18 years of age before the next election
– Must be a resident of Illinois for 30 days before the election

Locations:

1. County Clerk’s Office, Clinton County Courthouse Room 230, Carlyle
2. Most City and Village Clerk Offices, City and Village Halls
3. Deputy Registrars located throughout the County
4. Drivers License Facilities
5. Mail – when registering by mail, you cannot vote an absentee ballot for the first time only.
6. On line at www.elections.il.gov
7. Same Day/Grace Period Registration and Voting at the Clinton County Clerk’s office on election day from 8:00am – 7:00pm.

PLEASE NOTE: For any candidates filing at the County Clerk’s Office, the new courthouse hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Anyone waiting in line at 7:30 a.m. on the first day of filing, Nov. 12, 2024, will be entered into a lottery to determine ballot order.
